To say that I'm passionate about my latest jewelry crush would be a serious understatement. I recently received this stunning handmade beaded necklace from 31 Bits and instantly fell in love. This brand has not only seriously caught my eye, but its touched my heart at the same time. 31 Bits was born after Kallie Dovel's trip to Uganda in 2007 where she had the opportunity to meet a group of local women making paper beads. Kallie saw the beauty in their work and had a vision of how to share their designs in America. She returned home with a box of beads and an idea for a company that would change lives and inspire millions. In only a few short years, 31 Bits has gone from selling designs from six Uganda locals to an impressive ninety-nine. Not only does 31 Bits employ and educate these woman whose talent would otherwise go unnoticed, but most importantly gives them hope and the ability to improve their quality of life. Jewelry that comes with its own touching story... yes please!
